The Red Tassel is a quilted wall hanging – the first in a series of black/white quilted wall hangings.
I have always been fascinated by quilting but just never had the patience for precisely fitting all those perfect little squares together. Then I discovered improvisational quilting. It’s like jazz, you compose as you go.
I enjoy randomly stitching bits and pieces together then cutting them apart and stitching again, adding layers, and cutting apart . . . The Red Tassel was my first improvisational piece. I've since completed eight quilted wall hangings for my Black/White Series.
